Why oh why do I have to use Posterous's URL shortener (post.ly)??
Today I started using Posterous with any kind of seriousness and I have already found a huge problem and that is their Post.ly service.
The issue: I cannot get any detailed analytics from their URL shortner.
Sure they its convenient, sure they tell me how many visits I got on my web page, but they don't tell me any of the nitty gritty that Bit.ly does that it is really irritating. Perhaps I am not reading the instructions right, but hey I looked so if I can't find them (if they exist) then their site design is flawed. Either way whether due to ignorance on my part or theirs, I still can't see the analytics details I can with Bit.ly.
Guys the bottom line is if you want me to migrate everything to your site why don't you at least give me the option to use Bit.ly or some other service while you guys develop Post.ly. It is unfair to your users to do this and honestly Post.ly is not your core business so forcing us to use it and forcing yourselves to develop it is just plain silly. Focus on your core product and keep making it better.
